Urban Damage Graffiti Art

Writing graffiti since: 1984
From 1992 - 1998 the derelict housing estates of Hulme in Manchester were covered in graffiti. There was over half a mile square and 3 floors high of aerosol damage.
The artist who started the campaign was known as KELZO.
Since then his work has included:
Painting the front shutters of the Beastie Boys “XL” shop in New York in 1995,
Painting the graffiti in Prime Suspect 5 1996,
Painting the graffiti for the Jamie Mitchell in the BBC’s Eastenders in 1998.
He paints at Glastonbury and Urban Games festival each year.
Xmas 2001 he designed the front window displays of Dr Martens shops in Paris, Manchester, London and Northampton.
He has a piece of artwork in the new “City Gallery” in Manchester, which opened in May 2002 but was originally opened in the 16th century.
He is currently customising clothing for "Tommy Hilfiger" in Europe. He is also currently customising phone covers for “Motorola”. He has just completed his first acting role in the new Manchester film "Getting Off"

Kelzo had his first exhibition last year in which 500 people showed up on the first night.
