Pyramid, Dance and Other Stages
This information relates to Glastonbury Festival 2003
Each year Glastonbury festival arrives promising an unforgettable experience set to a soundtrack of a million, unique musical moments. Yet it is sometimes the smallest of these that can be the most memorable as the organic nature of the layout and the unpredictability of turning a corner, discovering a tiny pocket of inspiration remain among the moments that make you smile when remembered. It is for this very reason that thousands of world-class musicians and bands make Glastonbury a priority destination, the wonder and excitement which they remember their first encounter of Glastonbury Festival being their inspiration. Sure there are some great bands this year – arguably better than last year – but as ever the sheer variety of artists and styles means you will come away having discovered, or rediscovered some great music.
The Other Stage still offers all the grit and angst of a new generation of bands that thrive on pure adrenalin and heartfelt songs to rage against the grain making energised and powerful music.
The Dance tent will also be firing on all cylinders and once again offer the biggest in-door-outdoor party in Europe, thriving on a new wave of globalised-styles of music that no longer set creative boundaries or territorial pride before a full-fat beat. When all this gets too much you can take shelter in the Tiny Tea Tent and grin happily at the piano, sax and guitar trio singing ‘Bear Necessities’ at 3am in a rough three-part harmony, but that’s after the party so get ready for another fantastic musical meltdown, the only thing you need to bring is an open mind.
