Facilities for the Disabled
Stewards and other staff are advised that not all disabilites are visible, but please be patient if you do not receive the attention you would like - we do try.
There is provision for people with disabilities: loos, camping and parking, a viewing platform in the main arena, and charging for electric wheelchairs. Loos are sited in places that are not accessible to the general public. The site is not particularly easy for anyone - being huge (900 acres) and hilly and occasionally rough terrain, as you possibly know. Please call the Farm Office if you are disabled and wish to make use of the facilities: 01749890566
If you are coming in a campervan it is best not to buy the £40 campervan ticket, but only to get the £5 car parking (green levy) one, or you will end up entering through Blue Route the other side to the disabled camping area.
There is both parking and camping for the disabled, quite near to each other, with wheelchair-capable transport between the two, in the same places as last Festival (see sitemap here - it's currently poorly marked (sorry!) - but is towards the top lefthand corner of this central section). Again the wonderful people from ADD are stewarding this area. To get to the disabled parking area you would need to enter via the Drop-Off point (Yellow Gate) on the Glastonbury town side of Red gate off the A361, where assessment of your needs to be able to place you accordingly will be made. An orange (or blue European one) disabled badge helps.
Transport within the site has been considered, but decided that in a vehicle-free zone a minibus would be both unpopular and unreliable and it was better to offer no service than something that would not work well.
There is a signing service provided by professional signers who work for the RNID. They are available to help out in a communication problem involving those who have hearing disabilities and who can use British Sign Language - through any Information Point, Friday midday to Sunday night.
If you have any specific requirements not answered above, please contact Infoman.
