The nearest railway station to Worthy Farm is at Castle Cary.
UPDATE - June 04
Rail travellers should change trains at Swindon. Although some people may have been advised to take routes via Filton, north of Bristol - it is advised that travellers from the North West change at Cheltenham for the Stroud Valleys line to Swindon. There are no shuttle trains operating from Taunton this year. Travellers from London, Wales and South West should join the shuttle trains at Swindon.
First Great Western will run special services from London Paddington/Reading direct to Castle Cary as well as the normal service trains.
Wessex Trains will run a shuttle service between Swindon/Westbury and Castle Cary. There will be NO shuttle service between Taunton and Castle Cary (only the normal GBTT trains)
Customers from Birmingham and the North must be advised to change at Cheltenham and catch the next Stroud Valley line service to Swindon connecting into the shuttle to Castle Cary.
Customers from South and West Wales (including Hereford) should travel direct to Swindon and again connect into the shuttle for Castle Cary.
A free shuttle bus operates between Castle Cary station and the festival site which is approx. 8 miles away and connects with all trains. A festival ticket must be shown.
Return Journey
Sunday 27th June
Only the GBTT trains will operate.
Monday 28th June
An extensive train plan is being produced with services starting from 05.00 when there is plenty of spare capacity, however from approx. 10.00 onwards queuing for trains is inevitable and additional time must be allowed for all journeys.
Although it is planned that the engineering work in the Bristol area will be completed by 05.00, it is too big a risk to base any plans around this, therefore, the return arrangements will be exactly as the outward journeys and Swindon will again be used as the interchange point.
Additional Customer Services facilities provided at Castle Cary station include refreshments, toilets, first aid, customer assistance and telephones. Unfortunately it will not be possible to park at the station at this time and for security reasons there are no left luggage facilities.
For information on services call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.
