Money

The amount of money you need depends on what you're planning to buy, but the amount you really need to eat and drink healthily and happily is around £25 a day. You can get by for less, but you'll have to work at it and shop around.

Securicor have a truck equipped with 6 Link cash machines (ATMs) which will be parked near the Other Medical Centre just over the old railway track from the Other Stage. This should lessen the queues at the Bank's machines near the Farmhouse. It will cost you £1.75 per transaction, but a goodly proportion of that will be going to the good causes supported by the Festival. Open 24 hours Wednesday to Monday midday.

  • Nat. West Bank provdes four Servicetills near the Farmhouse - the bank is clearly marked on the Site Map. There are usually queues. If going for cash at night, go with a friend. Nat. West will also cash one cheque a day. Bring a small number of cheques in a chequebook which includes the calendar, your cheque guarantee card, and one other form of photo ID.
  • Only bring the credit cards you need, making sure you leave a note of the numbers at home to make an easy cancellation should they become lost or stolen.
  • Some stalls will cash cheques or give credit card advances. They charge a percentage for doing this, and they also expect good identification. Many stalls do take credit/debit cards but may ask for extra ID.
  • Look after your money - don't lose it, or allow it to be stolen. Exercise the normal, sensible precautions you would anywhere else. When preparing to sleep, spread your money around : keep it in different items of clothing, bags, under your sleeping mat, in a body belt. Don't be too predictable.
  • For those on a budget, the food and drink tends to get cheaper the further you are from the main stages area. The Green Fields tend to be the cheapest.
  • The markets are very tempting, because they have so many superb stalls. You will have little trouble spending all of your money, so ...
  • Remember to keep some for the journey home !
