Short Film Marquee

We thought: “Wouldn’t it be great if there was a marquee at Glastonbury that just showed cool movies all day long? Not big mega-budget feature films but funky little shorts & animations - festival films. Where you could just go & chill out for a bit, watch movies, and drink tea.” Well how many sugars do you want?

This year, the legendary cinema field plays host to one of the most amazing collections of short films ever assembled, in its very own marquee, all day, every day of the festival.

Festival Shorts presents the very best entries from the massive Glastonbury Festival short film competition.

Future Shorts shows a brilliant selection from their monthly London & European showcases, including the award winning Le Cheval 2.1 and Mike Leigh & Jim Broadbent’s masterpiece A Sense of History.

The Portobello Film Festival team has put together a weird & wonderful collection of previous festival winners, including Ardal O’Hanlon in Flying Saucer Rock & Roll and the twisted Bondi Hophead Zombie Freakout.

Direct from the heart of Soho, comes a first class programme from Leapfrog Entertainment, including BAFTA animation winners Jo Jo in the Stars and Man with the Beautiful Eyes.

And after dark, prepare for the inspired insanity that is the Punchdrunk film collective, who bring you the celebrated Pigeon Director and Tarmac.

BBC3 will be showing Glastonbury highlights past & present and don’t forget the afternoon movies – including Gamera Attack of Legion, the return of the Japanese 200 ft flying turtle, Supergrass – a Home Movie and the double Grammy nominated 1 Giant Leap.

It’s gonna be one hell of a show!
