Avalon

Enter the Field of Avalon and follow the thread of festival tradition. A concentration of smaller, yet intensely varied acts centring on the eclectic and the connected, celebrating our common roots through music art and dance.

From the heart of the Vale of Avalon itself, the legends of Arthur and the Avalonian star gate become less mythical and more enduring. We are in the realms of the local, the tribal and by glint of the same sword, global. Through music and celebration our Celtic world traditions become united within the universal language of the festival.

The Avalon main stage kicks off around noon on Friday and each day and runs until 12.30am. Throughout the day the 24-hour Café Avalon stage provides a place to sit and enjoy a wholesome vegetarian meal whilst experiencing a whole spectrum of top acoustic, jazz and folk acts. Not to mention Arnold Frenzy's 'Strangely Compelling' Flea Cirkus, Kas Bah red-dragon puppets, swing boats, Changing Worlds music distribution as well as a whole spectrum of crafts stalls and traders with a difference. Wandering across the village green. There are installations and assemblages to experience. Whilst the field provides a great place to sit back relax and rest the weary festival legs you will be able to tune in and chill out to famous acts that have included: The Dammed, Tony Allen, Ozrics, System Seven,Temple Of Sound, Nigel Mazlin Jones, Kava Kava, Skinny Sumo, Love Grocer, Arthur Brown . The Avalon field is a place to wander in. You may never find your way out unless you consult the star temple.
