Green Crafts Field

The Green Craft field is once again placing the nature and inspirational energy of real education on full and spectacular display, showcasing everything from the flippant and whimsical to unquestionable masterpieces. As much as the main stages here is a gathering of talent you would be very unlikely to see gathered in one place anywhere else.

Just a few of the highlights:

Dave Chapman – bronze age founder and sculptor, has created a fully functional foundry onsite, from where he demonstrates ancient techniques and fashions a stunning array of tools, ceremonial items and weapons complete with the magical awareness that breathes such beauty into them.

Ed Iglehart - visionary glass blower. Ed will be channelling his love of nature and maverick spirit through a vast range of glowing creations right into the night from his two storey wigwam.

Chris Wright – Vandweller and chainsaw carver extraordinaire, takes ancient pieces of fallen timber from across the country – some dating back to the Roman era - and pays tribute to them in stunning buzz-sawed three dimensional sculptures.

Norman Woollard’s hand built wind generators, art and technology combined at the forefront of a genuinely sustainable future.

They have been joined by more of the very best craftspeople in the country, who will all be offering insights into their work along with a taste of the life which fulfils them.

Here you can watch and wonder, look and learn, create your own artefacts or go home with something direct from the skilled hands of the demonstrators themselves.

The field itself is decorated with many monumental works in wood, stone and turf, making it a precious place to spend some time and be a part of the rebirth of respect and patience in the art of manufacturing.
