Los Lobos

From LA to Glasto

Acoustic Stage - Saturday

Los Lobos bring over twenty years' worth of writing and playing experience to the Acoustic Tent this year. Of course Lobos are most famous for scoring a huge international cover hit with the title track for the Ritchie Valance biopic La Bamba back in 1987.

The massive success of that has been both a blessing and a curse for the Hispanic band all the way from LA. Perhaps people don't realise that Los Lobos are eclectic in the best sense of the word. They draw equally from rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B;, blues, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music and their Glastonbury set this fine summers evening reflects this.

The band released Good Morning Aztlan last year to much crtical acolade, and a bulk of their show tonight is taken plumbed this material. Lobos set the tent alight with a virtuoso performance. Their years of playing together shows every song is delivered with precision and emotion.

This is perfect stuff for a perfect night.
