Snow Patrol

Snow Business Like Show Business

Other Stage - Friday

Snow Patrol are Glastonbury virgins and so am I – the anticipation is killing me! Having played their latest album Final Straw to breaking point, I’m not disappointed that today’s set is mostly from that very album. Gary Lightbody (Vocals / Guitars) wields his guitar like a weapon of mass destruction; the crowd are loving it and Gary is soaking it up as he thrashes about the stage in a manner not easy in such hot weather.

The sound is pretty poor at times, but no one seems too bothered as the first few chords of Run are greeted with cheers, whistles and beaming sunburnt faces. It must be an amazing feeling to write a song that becomes an anthem. The crowd are word perfect and as they join together as one voice they even sound in tune.

The band is blatantly touched by the whole experience and graciously applaud the crowd back for their efforts. A stunning performance all round with songs dedicated to everyone from Spiderman to Elbow, this is a gig no one will forget in a hurry.
