Fish die downstream when too much urine pollutes the water
3. Litter is Lousy
Cleaning up dropped litter is boring and expensive for organisers and adds enormously to the cost of the ticket. Put it in the bin.
4. Glass bottles are not allowed
At many festivals hired security seem over-jealous about revellers taking in bottles. There is an important reason, broken bottles in fields and open countryside are just too dangerous for partygoers and wildlife.
5. Beer cans can be recycled and waste can be composted
Beer and all types of cans are worth money. If they are separated in the waste system they can be made into more cans, saving resources all round. Compost edible waste. Recycling thanks.
6. Curbit!
Loud noises like drumming and amped-up sounds from private parties at festivals puts a serious strain on the licensing agreements with the relevant council and threatens officials who in turn make it much harder for legitimate musicians to play at other events. Loud noise at night and the license is in blight.
7. Leave the wildlife wild!
Don’t traumatise wildlife or domestic animals at these events. You don’t need to feed anything, or touch anything. If you are lucky enough to get to the countryside, enjoy being with it, don’t wreck it!
8. Remember – the venue you are in is a working farm, field, piece of earth.
Damage to nature is much harder to fix after the event and can kill. Please take only the good vibes and your rubbish with you.
