Priory of Brion

Rumour has it if his name is featured on any promotional advertising, Robert Plant refuses to perform with his new band Priory of Brion. One could amuse themselves with endless theories as to why he might be reluctant to be singled out. I figure at this stage in his career he just wants to sing cover songs without being bombarded by requests for Led Zeppelin tunes. Ahh...no such luck.
A full capacity crowd filled the Acoustic Tent to hear what was on offer and yes there were the expected cries for Stairway to Heaven. Instead the band delivered a haunting version of Darkness Darkness a Youngbloods original, Van Morrison's Gloria and a rousing rendition of Big Joe William's Baby Please Don't Go.

Vocally, Plant was on form and, despite no longer looking like a 70's Rock God (though still dancing like one), was every bit the consumate performer. A satisfied crowd filed out after the obligatory encore happy enough to be a part of Plant and Priory trip down memory lane.
