Flipside

This page is provided only for information, it does not apply to the 2002 festival.
Flipside are from Stroud in Gloucestershire. "Let's hear it from the Stroud posse" yells rapper Craig Harper and half the crowd make themselves know, it seems that most of the town are in this field. Musically, Flipside take a dance sound and mix it with trippy guitar, funky base and rap; they're a Galliano type thing. Numbers like Identify and Tequila Jammers are definite crowd pleasers and have that vibe that is near perfect for a Saturday afternoon at Glastonbury. A touch of reggae creeps in as the band play In a Minor Dub and then the hip-hop takes over and the audience react accordingly. Considering Flipside have recently changed drummer and have got a new female vocalist, they are surprisingly tight and they seem to be having the time of their lives. The set comes to an end and Craig addresses the crowd. " See you next year on the Jazz Stage." I wonder. Ade Black
