Camp Safely
Bring warm and waterproof clothing, sensible footwear, as well as sun cream, wet wipes, and a torch to help you avoid lurking tent ropes. Torches are far less of a fire risk than candles in or around tents. Leave your candles at home for romantic interludes.
If you cook, do it outside and always change camping gas outside - never inside tents, even if it is raining. When changing gas cylinders ensure gas tap is in the off position otherwise the gas will ignite when the cylinder is pierced and you will get burnt.
Festival 'belly' can be avoided by washing your hands frequently, so don't risk it.
Spondulicks - Filthy Lucre - Cash
Nestling near the farmhouse is the NatWest bank, willing to cash one cheque a day with any bankcard and a whole cheque book (with just a few cheques inside for security reasons), Thursday to Monday, from 9am to 5.30pm (3.30 on Monday). Use it with a friend for company and security. So you need carry less cash.
The several Cash Machines are open 24 hours a day from Thursday to Monday at 3.30pm, accepting all major credit cards. Only bring the credit cards you need and leave note of the numbers at home to make cancellation easier if they get lost or stolen.
Only Orange have a transmitter on site with increased capacity, so unless you're an Orange customer please don't rely on your mobile to meet up with friends. Orange have invited all networks to increase their coverage. The Orange Help centres can recharge your batteries and help with any questions you might have.
Open Fires
Avoid burns to yourself and others by carefully and considerately lighting fires, away from tents and only with the supplied wood - never from the hedges. Don't burn plastic, please. Watch out for flying embers and sparks as they could start a fire some distance away and NEVER use petrol or paraffin to start or revive a fire.
Definitely don't dig holes, cows have broken legs falling in them.
