"Only bring what you can afford to lose ..."
|
If you have your friend's ticket it is vital to get it to them before the Festival. It will be impossible to meet a friend at the Gate.
Be prepared to show your ticket on the way in or to catch the shuttle bus, but don't give it to anyone, even if they look like stewards, until you reach the pedestrian turnstiles at the security fence. It happens. Until then keep your ticket secure.
Please trust the passout system, and make sure that you comply with it if you leave and plan to return.
Children
Abiding by the letter of the licence has made it necessary for children 13 and over to have a ticket. Younger than that have free entry if accompanied by an adult.
You've already paid for your souvenir programme by buying a ticket, so collect it on entering - your only chance, miss it not - with your round-the-neck Guardian Guide. Extra Programmes are available to purchase from Info Points, not from the gates.
Directions to quieter or less dense places to camp are held and updated by Campsite Stewards. There is yet more camping space available this year, including a vetted Family Field.
Preparing to camp
Please do not bring any animals, wax flares, glass bottles, anything that could be construed as a weapon, or large quantities of alcohol - they will not be admitted. Only bring what you can afford to lose.
When packing remember you will be carrying all your stuff a long way - twice - so travel light, with less to haul across fields. The multitude of gastronomic delights, reasonably priced, make it possible and recommended to consider not even trying to cook, making it possible to travel more lightly.
Virtually of your needs except shelter can be met on site.

The Festival site is in an area notorious for poor mobile phone coverage. Orange have a transmitter on site. The Orange Help Tent in provides a free service to recharge your batteries.
