Oh the joys of poor schedule information. On my lovely handy size listings guide, Dilated Peoples are listed as starting at three o'clock and going on until three thirty.
|
So on my merry way I go, arriving before three to ensure there's no repeat of the photo access problems I experienced yesterday.

Alas, when I arrive, I discover they took to the stage some twenty minutes ago, and of course the first-three-songs photo window has been and gone. I take consolation from the fact that the few songs I see are probably the best; the tent is certainly packed and jumping.

Break dancers have appeared seemingly from nowhere as if they have radar-sensed a hip hop happening that needs them. Even the usually moody backstage liggers are risking losing their cred by busting a few moves. Dilated Peoples involve the crowd throughout and send shout-outs to the graffiti writers responsible for the pieces visible on the barriers outside. Tough and funky hip hop in the grand tradition is just what the doctor ordered.
