WITHOUT THE AID OF A SAFETY NET

Okay, so it wasn't all high wires and trapeezes, fire juggling and flame throwing. The circus skills school next to the big top does a fine line in the less fatal aspects of circusology and I can now offer a mean performance in the enviable tasks of mesmerising, death defying, awe-inspiring (etc) - plate spinning! I can also throw a diablo ball up in the air without catching it, stand on a pair of stilts for 0.5 seconds without falling off and just about manage to get both feet on the pedals of a uni-cycle. Gosh, I feel so proud.

There are half a dozen living saints in the skills tent. Smiling in the face of adversity and mis-timed juggling clubs. They really mean it when they say "Don't worry, no problem"after the two hundred and seventy ninth false start. The bottom line is this; if you want to try something different, have a real giggle, attempt things you certainly won't do at home and make a complete arse of yourself whilst everyone looks on encouragingly, this is the place to do it.
