Mo money... mo problems
Those enduring a three hour wait for the only on-site banking facilities could be forgiven for thinking themselves at the mercy of an evil monopoly. The truth - after making the rounds, Glastonbury Festival Organiser Michael Eavis could find only one bank who agreed to be involved. So, for the fourth year running, NatWest are coping with the cash-strapped.
Despite being operational since Thursday and increasing their services, Manager Robert Norman says the number of festival goers this year has risen, cancelling out any possible benefits. In addition to being herded like cattle in a compound, those waiting are forced to endure the stench from nearby portaloos.
Neil from Marlow in Buckinghamshire was planning on getting his cash at 3am when there are fewer people. "It's almost a waste of day" he said, "but it's got to be done."
Each year NatWest have a Glastonbury post-mortem where they work on ideas to improve services. Suggestions of a Glastonbury credit card, and cashless areas have been bandied around by those in line with time to ponder their current situation. That and some entertainment.
