Since it's inception in 1970, Glastonbury Festival has established itself as the world�s most famous and prestigious music festival, with Glastonbury Festival 2000 the biggest and most successful yet. Because of problems with the fence and excess numbers at the festival last year, Festival organiser Michael Eavis decided to take a break in 2001, to ensure the health and safety of future festival-goers. Glastonbury 2001, a world first, has been created to fill this huge gap.
