Professor Panic's Puppet Arena

The shows in Professor Panic’s Puppet Arena in the Kidz Field run almost non-stop from breakfast time through to late afternoon. They are suitable for all, as entertaining for mums and dads as they are for children. The focus at this festival is on quality, no matter whom it is for and unlike so many so-called shows for kids the performers are genuinely interested in entertaining the very young and not merely intent on impressing the adult members of the audience. Throughout the weekend there are regular performances by The Puppet Workshop. This Eastbourne based company owned and run by puppeteer extraordinaire Mel Mylan have a highly comic version of that old legend George and the Dragon. In our age of hi-tech everything it was wonderfully refreshing to see a capacity audience rolling with laughter throughout this most traditional of entertainments. A magic mix of mediaeval history meets twenty-first century humour.

Marvellous. If you can, try to catch the Puppet Workshop’s other show travelling The Teddy Bear Circus, famous in the world of marionettes. For information look them up on www.puppets.co.uk
