'User' & 'Later' Win Vote
musicunsigned, Europe's premier independent online music company, have announced the winners of the first ever online vote for bands to perform at the festival. London based 4-piece User and Liverpool epic pop experience Later topped the online charts; each winning a coveted slot on the New Bands Stage during the Festival on Saturday 24 June. For the first time in the history of UK festivals, the public have had the opportunity to vote online for 2 acts via the Official Glastonbury Festival website www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk and new music e-zine www.playlouder.com. Six musicunsigned stars of the future were whittled down to two during four weeks of frantic voting with approximately 4,000 people logging on to cast their vote. Top acts User and Later now take their rightful place on the bill alongside the world's finest breaking talent including Elliott Smith, The Flaming Lips and Doves. "This is a fantastic opportunity for these bands to really show the Industry what they can do," said Aroon Maharajh, CEO at musicunsigned. "These acts are what the people want to see in the New Bands Tent, a mixture of new acts performing for the first time to large crowds paired with highly acclaimed breaking talent. We've created a festival first where people have voted online for acts to appear at Glastonbury - this has never happened before and with musicunsigned involved from now on in we'll make sure the online voting and unsigned acts become as much a part of the Glasto vibe as the Pyramid stage and Greenfields."

User We just want to say this to you. Listen to this.
None of us are originals. We all derive, we all stem. We all have had our heroes, our idols, whom we have modelled ourselves upon. Everyone else is so in love with the past they think they can never improve on it. We want to surpass our influences. We want to mean more than our heroes meant to us. We are the future in love with the past.
We just want to make ourselves different from everyone else. We want something that lasts, something that will never leave, and that well never lose. We never ever want to be bored again. We want forever. We want everything and perhaps when we find ourselves wanting everything it is because we are dangerously close to wanting nothing at all. We are important. Rock n Roll is not redundant.

Later If you don't vote now then vote 'Later'.... Later the band that is. What is it with these guys? Why later? Why now?
Getting together in late `97, Later (Paul Bradley - lead vocals and mean maracas, Simon O`Neil - drums, Scott Miveld - lead guitar, Neil Bradley - keyboards, Paul Thomas - rhythm guitar and Pete Webster bass) have toured both the UK and Europe, been pursued by local TV and received both the Radio One and XFM seal of approval. A CD was even requested by Live Aid instigator and then XFM DJ Sir Bob Geldof! Earlier this year, NME/Carling Premier named Later one of the best-unsigned bands in Britain. Their celebratory set at the Manchester Virgin Megastore was met with an unrivalled reception, media accolades aplenty and a busload of ardent fans. Liverpool`s leading music magazine Bigmouth said, We`re mightily impressed... Bradley is a fine frontman, off beat and charismatic. Local station Crash FM declared them, The intelligent future of guitar indie Breathing new and sexciting life into classic rock guitar, a Later track comes with a lifetime guarantee Huge hypnotic melodies painted and striking psychedelia or your money back! Later`s 4 track EP Dog`s Tales is available now. Laters mate.
