![]() | 01.04.2008 LIGHTS Perhaps when the ground opened and Hades plucked Persephone from the sunlit earth, Brooklyn band Lights' music was the soundtrack. The combination of effervescent vocal harmonies and fuzzy guitar conjures the image of Death courting the maiden - that kiss of both darkness and light, the roughness against the softness. In the Fall of 2007 Lights found themselves in Greg Weeks' (Espers) Hexham Head studio in Philadelphia. With some analog tape and a little help from their friends, the band wove together this their self-titled LP. Lights 'Lights' (TN082CD/LP) coming soon. Available on CD ONLY now exclusively through the Twisted Nerve online shop. |

![]() | 07.10.2007 THE VALERIE PROJECT The sound goes off and the amps get cranked (do harps need amps?) as a collective of Philadelphia's finest underground musicians, spearheaded by Greg Weeks (Espers), pay tribute to Jaromil Jires' seminal Eastern European hallucinogenic-baroque-witch-flick Valerie And Her Week Of Wonders. The first chapter of The Project Series, Greg has enlisted the help of members from Espers, Grass, Fern Knight, Fursaxa, Woodwose, Timesbold and Rake to realise his vision of performing a unique acid-charged live soundtrack to this Finders Keepers favourite. Honed through a handful of intimate live dates across the US over the past year, including 2 sold out dates at the Anthology Film Archives in New York in conjunction with B-Music and a triumphant appearance on the final night of this year’s Meltdown festival supporting Jarvis Cocker at the Royal Festival Hall, The Valerie Project breathes fresh life into one of the most visually arresting and important works of fantasy film ever created (the original soundtrack of which was recently reissued by sister-label Finders Keepers). The Valerie Project is released 26th November. Special UK live dates to be announced. |

![]() | 05.07.2007 NEW SITE Behold the return of Manchester's very own homemade and house-proud, singular minded and independent non-record label, Twisted Nerve. Having catered to a modest community of lateral thinking music lovers for ten eventful cold summers, Andy Votel and Damon Gough (aka Badly Drawn Boy) along with Finders Keepers stalwarts Dom Thomas and Doug Shipton have returned to the original TN garden shed to cultivate a new stream of self-sufficient musical misfits bringing you a catalogue of contemporary hybrid-genres ranging from Anatolian-acid-folk to zygotic-zither-music. Armed with our original arsenal of a genuine adoration for original music and no business plan, we are currently preparing a flock of new, very limited 7" and 10" EPs, compilations and full-length albums of hand-crafted musical anomaly packaged in bespoke sleeves to be released in regular succession throughout the year. Not to mention the countless releases we have been sneaking out over the last twelve months – 45s from Samandtheplants, Diane Cluck, SJ Esau and more recently from All Traps Set and Kerrdd Dant, as well as the eponymous Toolshed album. Support independent record labels. Breaking boundaries before breaking even. |
