David Saw
Sawing High
Acoustic Stage - Friday
The honour of opening up proceedings at the Acoustic Tent this year belonged to London based singer/songwriter David Saw.
As the heavens opened outside, Saw and his four piece band took to the stage a little later than billed to perform to a capacity crowd escaping the downpour.
Essentially showcasing material from his recent Different Story album, Saws and the accomplished musicians supporting him kicked off the weekend with a set tinged with country and folk tradition.
David Saw's voice is reminiscent of Dylan circa Blood on the Tracks, and he sings his own material with depth and gravitas.
His music could easily cross over into the Top of the Pops mainstream, much as David Gray has managed to do, but I feel Saw could do it so much better.
