Terry Walker
Ching
Dance Tent - Sunday
Terri Walker may have grown up in Germany, but her music certainly hasn’t been influenced by it; Mica Paris wasn’t called Mica Munich.
Glastonbury’s first taste of the soulsation was an opening acapella sung in German. Backed by a competent eight-piece band including a complete brass section, she certainly exhibited trappings of a diva with her opening gambit: “You may not have heard of me. You will do soon. I’ll take over the world.”
The showcase for her Untitled debut album started with the upbeat “Love Fool”. The set slowed down from here, and included a duet with 17 year old guest vocalist “Ryan”. The final song was Terri’s current single “Ching Ching”, currently doing the rounds in clubs thanks to a remix by Jay Hannan.
Terri appeared very personably, laughing and joking between the gutsy, dynamic performances that have surely won her a few more fans.
